Asbestos in Buildings: Project Monitor - 5 Days

The abatement project monitor is an individual that is responsible for the on-site observation and/or management of asbestos abatement activities. The abatement project monitor is often also responsible for the collection of air samples before, during and after (final clearance) asbestos abatement. This program is designed based on the project monitor training requirements outlined in the Model Accreditation Plan of EPA’s regulation referred to as AHERA (40 CFR Part 763). The 5-day program describes asbestos and asbestos containing materials, the role of the project monitor, state and federal regulations, building construction issues, project specifications, asbestos response actions, personal protection equipment, legal responsibilities and an extensive treatment of air sampling; equipment, calibration and sampling strategies, and a variety of other issues.
