Lead Paint Abatement Worker

Lead Abatement Worker: EPA
(Target Housing and Child Occupied Facilties) - 2 Days

Offered on a contract basis at your site, minimum class size required

We have used the federal EPA Lead Worker Course materials in designing this two-day course. The class is not intended to meet all the OSHA worker training requirements for projects in other buildings and facilities. This two-day course and hands-on activities for workers will cover and include:

Background information on lead and sources of contamination and exposure

Regulatory Guidance Review (OSHA, EPA, HUD, State and Local)

Hazard Recognition and Controls including Health Effects, Exposure Measurements, Materials Identification, Safety and Health Rules, Medical Surveillance, Medical Removal Programs and Chelating Issues

Personal Protective Measures including Respirators, Clothing and Hygiene

Work Practices including: area preparation; maintenance activities (welding, cutting, etc.); indoor and outdoor abatement of paint, dust and soil; mechanical, manual, and chemical methods; engineering and administrative controls; clean-up and disposal.

Recordkeeping and Records Access

Course Fee $225 - includes exam
