POLLUTION PREVENTION FOR NEW DEVELOPMENTS
Design Practices to Reduce Water Quality Impacts

2008 Schedule

March 17, 2008, Atlanta
September 23, 2008, Atlanta

Everything a designer needs to know about pollution prevention.  This one–day class picks up where the NPDES Level II left off.  This course will describe pollutants common to construction activity and the impacts they cause to the environment. A review of all pertinent state and federal regulation will be included. Best Management Practices will be presented along with a detailed list of items to be included in a typical Erosion Sediment and Pollution Control Plan to meet NPDES requirements.  Information on monitoring impacts and reporting requirements will also be covered.

In addition to BMPs for construction activities, this course will include an overview of post construction water quality BMPs as listed in the Georgia Stormwater Management Manual as well as some common sense tools for BMP selection.  This class is a must for site designers and plan reviewers. However inspectors and contractors can also benefit from learning what it takes to comply with the NPDES General Permits.
